Postdoctoral fellow position in mouse genome engineering
We seek a highly motivated post-doctoral fellow to apply, develop and improve technologies for generating mouse models of human disease using the latest tools for genome engineering, including RNA-guided nucleases, recombinases, and integrases. The successful candidate would join a team of researchers in the laboratory of Dr. Lauryl Nutter at The Hospital for Sick Children within the Model Production Core at The Centre for Phenogenomics. The Centre for Phenogenomics, located in Toronto, Canada, is a national facility dedicated to developing tools and platforms for cutting-edge basic and biomedical research using mice.
Here’s What You’ll Get To Do
Lead projects developing cutting-edge technologies to produce mouse models of human disease
Develop knowledge and skills in mouse genetics, genome engineering, and methodologies for generating genetically engineered mouse models, including mouse embryo manipulation
Act as a knowledge resource within a multi-disciplinary team
Develop mentoring and leadership skills
Disseminate research findings through publications, presentations, and seminars
Here’s What You’ll Need
Ph.D. degree in genetics or molecular biology or have equivalent research training. (Candidates who have obtained their PhD within the last two years are preferred.)
Strong background in molecular biology and/or genetics.
Experience working with mouse models is an asset.
Self-motivation and the ability to work independently.
Demonstrated time management and multitasking capabilities.
Demonstrated excellent written and verbal communications skills.
