A postdoctoral position is available immediately in the Gelvin laboratory at Purdue University.  The research project involves understanding the molecular mechanism of Agrobacterium T-DNA integration into the plant genome.  The project involves proximity labeling to identify chromosomal proteins near chromosomal break sites that may attract VirD2/T-DNA molecules for integration, and validation of these proteins in the T-DNA integration process.  The project also involves understanding interactions between VirD2/T-DNA and chromatin proteins, and the role of various histone proteins in T-DNA integration.
