CORE COMPETENCIES & ESSENTIAL DUTIES
Responsible for day-ahead and real-time operations in the assigned energy market. Specific responsibilities include the creation, modification, and submittal of day-ahead and real-time energy offers, ancillary offers, bilateral settlement schedules, interchange schedules, and demand bids to the appropriate energy market. This position works a 24/7/365 rotating shift schedule during normal, emergency and restoration conditions. Consistent and reliable attendance is required.
- Creates, modifies, and submits day-ahead and real-time energy offers, ancillary offers, bilateral settlement schedules, interchange schedules, and demand bids to the SPP energy market.
- Develops strategies to maximize generating assets and load obligations in the day-ahead and real-time markets.
- Responsible for the start-up, dispatch, and shutdown of generation resources.
- Monitors and controls generation and responds to alarms utilizing Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA).
- Collaborates with peers to analyze energy market performance, identify trends and opportunities for improvement and ensure reliability and regulatory compliance.
